Argyle House, the original Japari building houses the library and resource centre, senior classrooms and the Art Room.
This classic “art deco” style building has been extended and altered over time to accommodate the needs of the school. Initially the building was the main entrance to the school and housed the Head's office and Therapy rooms, prior to the purchase of No. 3 Dundalk Avenue (Gardiner House).
Argyle House is named in honour of Cathy Argyle, the first Headmistress of Japari School, and includes the Library and Resource centre which is usually a hive of activity, where children are not only exposed to the wonderful world of books, but have access to modern computer technology which provides, in an exciting and interesting manner, more layers of knowledge. Japari has implemented, among others, the Knowledge Network Integrated Learning and Methodology programme in the computer centre. This has proved to be a very successful programme. Children often have to be asked more than once to leave the centre while the next timetabled class wait impatiently outside!
